# How do airport fees work?

Airport fees are applied to flights to simulate real airport operating costs. These fees are deducted from your **Flight Coin (FC) earnings**, whether you are a free or subscribed pilot.

The airport fee depends on the **type of arrival airport**:

**Example:**

If you land at a large airport, 10% of your Flight Coin earnings will be deducted. If your earnings are low, a fixed fee will apply instead, depending on the airport type.
