MFLink: MetaFlight’s redesigned, ultra-light tracker

Put an end to the stone age with the old v1 MF tracker eating up your PC's resources. Free up space by uninstalling the old one and make way for the new MFLink by MetaFlight connector.

With MFLink, you can easily connect your flight simulator: MSFS2020/FSX/FS9/Xplane/P3D. No stress, installation is simple, but don't forget to have XPUIPC or FSUIPC already in place.

Now, to take off with MetaFlight, all you have to do is launch MFLink. And to make things even cooler, you can even launch your flight directly from the web interface!

You don't have to worry about it, a message will guide you to run MFLink automatically at the time of your flight. But if you prefer to do it yourself, that's cool too. No more headaches about admin authorisations, MetaFlight and MFLink take care of that for you.

Blockchain and immutability

At MetaFlight, we know that the security of your data and the guaranteed integrity of your logbook are paramount. That's why we opted for blockchain and web3 right from the start.

But don't worry, we can also ensure the security and reliability of your data without necessarily using blockchain. We've come up with a super-efficient solution.

After more than a year working on MetaFlight, we realised that blockchain is cool, but it's not cheap and it takes work. You can get the same results with other methods, without going overboard.

So that's it, we've decided to get out of blockchain, but don't worry, we're keeping everything that makes MetaFlight great: security, immutability and top-notch gameplay.

In concrete terms, what does the release of the blockchain mean for you as a subscriber who has benefited from this solution?

• Your flights will be automatically recorded, with no need for manual synchronisation.
• All your flights already synchronized on the blockchain will be repatriated and securely recorded in our integrated immutable flight log solution, without any intervention required from your end.
• No need to create or manage a blockchain wallet.
• The NFTs you have purchased remain unchanged and available on MetaFlight and OpenSea.
• Your NFTs become MFTs (MetaFlight Tokens), which can still be used with the same in-game benefits (i.e. FC earnings on flight hours and the ability to resell or rent them to other MetaFlight users and virtual airlines in the future).
• MFTs are instantly available in your inventory, without wallet synchronisation.

These changes simplify the experience of using the platform, while maintaining its features and benefits

Freemium restrictions

We have a few updates to share with you, especially for those who use our freemium version. We need to balance things out to support our business model and give even more value to our premium pilots:

• From now on, you'll only be able to do up to 3 missions per month.

‍

• You will only have access to CL0 level missions.
• Good news: this won't affect your flights with your virtual airline (AFRv), as long as you comply with their conditions

But don't panic! You'll still be able to earn CF and XP on your missions and in free flight.

‍

But if you really want to unlock all the features and take full advantage of MetaFlight without any restrictions, it's time to upgrade to the premium subscription today!

Completely revamped technical architecture

We've made a crucial shift with the new MFv2 version. We completely overhauled our technical architecture to ensure a super-reliable platform. It took time, energy and money, but it was worth it.

We've simplified the tracker with the MFLink connector and we're offering you a web-only experience. It was a big job, but it's a step in the direction we want to take with MetaFlight.

We're planning to optimise certain technical parameters even further, with the aim of always offering the ultimate experience.
